Take the Test
In order for students to be eligible to participate in the CTY Greece Programs, they need to pass the Center's exams that take place every year in different cities around Greece and Cyprus.
CTY Greece uses two tests, developed and scored by the Center for Talented Youth of the Johns Hopkins University: The School and College Ability Test (SCAT) for 3rd – 9th grade students and the Spatial Test Battery (STB) for 6th – 9th grade students, which measure verbal, quantitative, and spatial reasoning ability and are in Greek & English (only for students taught in English and attending international schools in Greece and Cyprus).
For foreign students this qualification can be acquired through the CTY JHU Center.
No preparation is needed for the tests. Each student can take either or both tests. The SCAT test once per academic year and STB test only once.
The exam cost per student per test is 35 euros and it is nonrefundable.

For students taught in English and attending international schools in Greece and Cyprus the exams continue to be paper based.
The examinations in Greek taking place in cities other than Thessaloniki and Athens are paper based.
Due to capacity constraints, there is a limited number of places available for each digital examination, so additional exam dates are provided. It is important to note that while the format may have changed, the exam's content remains unaltered. The only difference is that students use a computer keyboard and mouse to select their answers.
